Design documentation pursuant in Russian Federation is developed in accordance with Government formal rules and standards. One of such standards is “The regulations on a list of contents of Design and Estimate documentation” (approved by the Government Decree of the Russian Federation № 87 dated 16 February 2008).
Design Documentation is developed on a staged basis:
1. Explanatory Note
2. Feasibility statement
3. Adjacent areas Layout Plan (М 1:2000)
4. General Layout (М 1:500)
5. Junction layout (М 1:500)
6. Standard floor layouts with room-by-room schedules (М 1:100,1:200)
7. Section drawing
8. Front elevation
9. Composite photograph
10. 3D-imaging
The Schematic Design is developed to the extent sufficient to obtain initial permit documentation and technical specification.
Basic Design Stage includes a part of design documentation subject to approval and is developed with the following content:
1. Explanatory Note
2. Ground area layout
3. Architectural solutions
4. Conceptual and Space planning solutions
5. Power supply system
6. Water supply system
7. Sewage system
8. District heating system
9. Ventilation and air conditioning system
10. Gas supply system
11. Telecommunication network (TV and radio broadcast, telephone services, computer network)
12. Technological solutions
13. Construction organization plan
14. Demolition plan
15. Environmental management
16. Fire services management
17. Handicapped access management
18. Energy efficiency management and metering equipment
19. Design of Automatic fire alarm system includes
20. Additional sections:
o video supervision
o access control
o utilities dispatching control automation
o security alarm
o fire control system
o vertical transportation (elevators)
21. Technical investigation of building structures (at reconstruction)
22. Design of in-site utilities
23. Design of off-site utilities
Basic Design Stage documentation is necessary for further coordination with government reviewing authorities and is subject to the State Expertise.
Construction Design Stage includes documents essential for construction and assembly works.
Content of design documentation is determined in accordance with relevant Government standards and is subject to specification between Employers and Designing companies in Design contracts.
Design documentation at Construction Design Stage includes:

3. Architectural solutions
4. Conceptual and Space planning solutions
5. Power supply system
6. Water supply system
7. Sewage system
8. District heating system
9. Ventilation and air conditioning system
